Go, My Beloved

לְכָה דּוֹדִי | Ḷəˈk͡hàh Dọˈđị | Go, My Beloved is a song for welcoming the Sabbath which is sung, along with several psalms, before the שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל | S͡həˈmạ‘ Yịṣṛàˈ’éḷ | Hear, Israel during the Friday evening service for the קַבָּלַת שַׁבָּת | Qạbàˈḷạt S͡hạˈbàt | Reception of Sabbath.

The song's lyrics are from stanzas 1, 2, 5, and 10 of a hymn by the great mystical poet, rabbi, and author Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz (~1500..1580). The rousing melody is by the famous singer, songwriter, and music producer Craig Taubman (1958…).

The melody is in a minor scale.
